Is Odinga willing to share power?

The German newspaper “Neues Deutschland” states that Odinga would be willing to share power with Kibaki under the condition to have new elections. The source of this information is a German who has close ties with Odinga and the ODM. So far there is no official statement from Odinga to confirm this.

The same article sees little hope for the option of power sharing, since there is no sign that Kibaki would negotiate under the condition of new elections.

  1. lets be open

I just went through the posts and have to say that this more than anything looks like a purely pro-Raila blog.

Raila, the statesman he says he is; should have appealed for calm to avoid loss of lives and the massive destruction of property that seems calculated.

The most amicable way of breaking through the stalemate is not running battles with the police but negotiations.

  2. I have also gone through the posts and finds that they are if anything critical of the situation as it is on the ground. I am a pure advocate of democracy and will not tolerate an abuse of it. The posts, I believe, are as critical of the happenings on the ground as we Kenyans are expected to be at this time of crisis. Our critical analysis of the situation and a clear head should prevail. I find it hard to believe that the government spokesman blatantly turned away mediation offers by Archbishop Tutu, declaring him non-legit and categorising him as a tourist.

It would be nice for all of us, not just to take everything at face value but to be analytical towards our fight to attain democracy.
